In Barme, you will find a mound with a moat running around it, where a medieval castle, a so-called "motte", with a half-timbered tower once stood. There are several burial mounds in Diensthoper Holz: round mounds 10 to 20 meters in diameter and around one to two meters high. Most of them date back to the Bronze Age and are 3500 years old. The dead rest in them as they were buried at the time. You can take a look inside the burial mound replica in Diensthop. A vertical profile wall bisects the mound. In front of it stands a mighty oak tree coffin.
South of Hülsen, you will come across the remains of a land defense (medieval border fortification), which is crossed by hollow paths. At the fire station in Hülsen there are two Snede stones from 1575 with inscriptions and coats of arms. Snede is an old word for border. On the outskirts of Hülsen you will see the Kaliberg, the spoil heap from the potash mine. In the Hülsen industrial estate, two information boards remind us of a farming settlement where Germanic tribes lived 2000 years ago. In the west, the church with the round tower and the official house from 1770 are worth seeing.
You can also find the Aller Archaeology Tour at Komoot.
