Mehrgenerationen-Haus Dörverden im Amtshaus Westen

  • Historical building
  • Special wedding venue
  • Community centre/multigenerational house
  • Children’s playground
A gathering place for people of all ages, featuring a local history museum.

The multigenerational house has been in existence since 1995. In the early days, it was supported by the municipality and the county, and for three years it received funding from the state of Lower Saxony as a model project for rural areasweb_scrape/web_scrape.

The Aller Experience Center includes a shelter, play areas, a water playground, a sculpture, and an observation tower. The facility offers accommodations for guests from both the city and the countryside.

Civil wedding ceremonies are also held at the multigenerational house. Regular activities include childcare, an intergenerational choir, game afternoons, a reading corner, and other offerings.

The Westen Town Hall is located directly on the Aller River and offers spaces for weddings and larger gatherings.

The Westen Local History Association, along with its local history museum, and other clubs are based in the building. In the local history museum, visitors can learn about the history of Westen. Guided tours of the exhibition are available (heimatverein-westen@web.de).
