Grabhügelfeld Diensthop

Archaeological site
Finds in the Ehmken Hoff Dörverden and in the Landesmuseum Hannover.

The burial mounds in the forest near Diensthop are round mounds 10 to 20 meters in diameter and around one to two meters high. Most of them date back to the Bronze Age and are around 3500 years old. The dead rest in them as they were buried at the time.

A Bronze Age burial mound was also reconstructed in Diensthop. A vertical profile wall bisects the mound. In front of it stands a mighty oak coffin. A burial mound is shown during an archaeological excavation. You can take a look inside.

Some finds are on display at the Ehmken Hoff in Dörverden. The Landesmuseum Hannover also presents some exhibits from the municipality of Dörverden.
