Weser
Cycle Route

From Hannoversch Münden to the North Sea

Fantastic stages

The Weser Cycle Route is the most popular bike path in Germany (ADFC Cycling Analysis 2023). It stretches over 520 km from Hannoversch Münden in southern Lower Saxony up to Cuxhaven in the north. The path was awarded four stars by the ADFC as a quality bike route!

The first stage is the Upper Weser, where the Weser Uplands offer a variety of highlights. In addition to a unique river landscape with castles and palaces, you will experience legendary half-timbered towns. Meet the Pied Piper in Hameln or the lying Baron Münchhausen in Bodenwerder.

The Weser cycle path leads through the unique nature of the Middleweser region.

Shortly before Minden, Porta Westfalica opens the doors to the Weser in the North German Plain. The Middle Weser here lays its course through wide, only slightly hilly country with moor, heath, lush meadows and fertile fields. Picturesque villages, scattered farms and numerous windmills characterize the landscape.

The Weser cycle route is also suitable for beginners and families, as there are only a few inclines along the route. It mostly runs away from main roads on predominantly paved or well-maintained paths. In some sections, the tour can be cycled on both sides of the Weser (main and alternative routes). The Weser cycle path is signposted and can be traveled in both directions.
