This old district region is ideal for cycling. The signposted route in the form of a figure of eight from Bruchhausen-Vilsen to Eystrup or vice versa is around 54 km long and can easily be completed by less experienced cyclists as part of a day trip.
Let yourself be enchanted by the charm of the marsh and geest landscapes and enjoy the changing impressions of this unique region in the heart of Lower Saxony.
The route passes lakes, the Weser, historic mills and buildings, the old main melioration canal and beautiful village, forest and meadow landscapes. In the evening or in between, you will be spoiled by the cozy gastronomy in an enjoyable way. On this circular cycle route, you can immerse yourself in peace and nature, relax and forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The Eystrup and Bruchhausen-Vilsen train stations are the best starting and finishing points for this circular tour through the old district of Grafschaft Hoya.
The majority of the selected cycle paths, farm tracks and country lanes are easy to cycle on. However, minor obstructions due to dirt can occur during field cultivation or harvest time. But this is also "country life"! There is grass cover on short stretches of road and, depending on the prevailing weather conditions, occasional puddles of water, so a short "hike" by bike may be necessary. However, with a sports or touring bike and gears, the entire route can be ridden without difficulty even by moderately experienced cyclists. All routes are to be used at your own risk.
You can also find the Achter tour at Komoot.
