The local history museum for the county of Hoya is housed in the 17th century Staffhorst manor house, on the edge of the Bürgerpark, which was laid out in the style of the Georgengarten in Hanover. The Martinskirche cultural center is located in the immediate vicinity. Founded in 1983, the museum of local history has a permanent exhibition on Johann Beckmann, Hoya and the Weser, counts and Burgmannen. Also on display: a model of the town of Hoya shortly after the Thirty Years' War. In addition, other topics relating to everyday culture and regional history of the county of Hoya are presented in special exhibitions that change several times a year.
