The Alhuser Ahe is a 22-hectare floodplain forest area between Hassel and Hoya to the east of the Weser. An old hardwood floodplain forest grows in this nature reserve. It is predominantly occupied by English oak and field maple. The often lush herbaceous layer is dominated by the hollow corydalis, which blooms in large carpets of white and purple flowers at the end of March/beginning of April. The nutrient-rich, moderately moist site is home to numerous other plant species and offers a very attractive landscape, especially in spring. The nature reserve can be walked on paths that are not closed.
