The marked circular trail of the Touristik-Verein Langwedel (Weser) e.V. is around 16 km long.
It leads to the most beautiful points of the municipality between Etelsen Castle and the former castle in Langwedel and is divided into two routes.

The northern route (approx. 8 km) leads from the town hall through the village of Langwedel, which gave its name to the unified municipality of Flecken Langwedel during the territorial reform in 1972, although the village of Etelsen had more inhabitants. Via the "Herrenkamp", one of Langwedel's oldest streets with ancient oak trees, and the "Napoleon Bridge" over the Goldbach, you reach the train station. On Bahnhofstraße, you should first make a detour to the Burgbad. Langwedel Castle stood on this historic site for around 600 years from around 1222. The "Burgbad Langwedel", open from May to September, was renovated in 2007.

The remains of the walls of the former bishop's castle can be seen under a glass panel in the entrance area, which is always accessible. As you continue north of the Bremen-Hanover railroad line, you will pass horse and sheep pastures in the direction of Cluvenhagen. The northern side of the trail repeatedly offers wonderful views of the unspoilt Daverden moor and the Etelser Berkelsmoor, the home of the legendary "Stubben-Dierk" (1837-1914). After working as a gamekeeper in the count's service, he turned to poaching.

In Etelsen, the largest village in the area, you can explore the restored "Jan Wind" windmill, the "Zum guten Hirten" church and the castle and castle park with mausoleum.

Now the southern part (8 km) of your hike begins, which leads along the glacial edge of the Geest along the Weser glacial valley. Here - past the quarry pond with its white sand dunes - you will experience untouched nature in the landscape conservation area along the "Alte Aller" between Etelsen, Cluvenhagen and Daverden.

Enjoy the fascinating views of the wide river landscape. This lowland area of the Alte Aller at the "Fischerhütte" in Cluvenhagen is also known as the "murder pit", as it is said that highwaymen used to carry out raids on coach traffic between Bremen and Verden at the "Waldschlösschen" inn.

Past the open-air stage in Daverdener Holz, you will pass through the old village center to St. Sigismund's Church, which is open from Easter to Thanksgiving.

The village of Daverden was first mentioned in a document on 18 May 1258 and celebrated its 750th anniversary in May 2008. The lime tree by the church is probably just as old. At the beginning or end of your hike, you can visit a permanent exhibition about Langwedel Castle and the town hall during normal opening hours. Guided tours of the exhibition are available.

You can also find the tour at Komoot.
