From Weyher mineral resources, an old bathing area and an old granary. Start: at the outdoor pool

We leave the parking lot around the outdoor pool in an anti-clockwise direction and reach the marked route of the Way of St. James from Bremen to Osnabrück. We keep right before the Hachebrücke bridge and follow the path towards Lahausen, always parallel to the road "Am Neddernfeld". We reach a gas pumping station - there is natural gas underground in deeper layers of sand - and soon reach the Lahausen Schützenhalle. Opposite the parking lot, we look for a path through the bushes and reach the old Lahaus swimming pool, now a biotope. There is no public path leading there, access is at your own risk.

We then continue along the path, turning left at the crossroads. A small cottage once stood here. Not far away, at the end of Hermann-Küsel-Straße, we see a still existing cottage. We come to Lahauser Straße, which we cross and walk towards the half-timbered spieker. We take the cycle path along the road towards Jeebel until we take the path to the left after the Hache bridge in front of the first farm.

We follow this for quite a while parallel to the Hache, at the beginning it is still clearly recognizable, then no longer very well maintained. Under no circumstances should you walk across the pastures towards the Hache; fences and gates must be respected. Finally, the path turns off towards Sudweyher Straße, but soon a small connecting path leads to the small gray building of the Harzwasserwerke. We have now reached Holtwischdamm. There is a Harzwasserwerke well on the left. We continue in the same direction, pass a second well site and reach a T-junction. A sign shows us the way to the left across the Hache, and soon we have reached the outdoor pool. The path is largely unpaved and can be very rough and uneven - so wear sturdy shoes. In addition to the two fountains and the pumping station, we can see on the Sudweyher side of the path after passing the Hache bridge that sand was once mined here.

In the past, the Hache used its dams to flood and fertilize the surrounding land. The dams have all been removed and the Hache is the only river in the district that fish can pass through undisturbed. The Lahauser Spieker was lovingly renovated by an association and now serves as a rehearsal room for the Lahauser Bühne, among others. The two farms near the Spieker were set on fire at the end of the Second World War. Thanks to the surrender of the surrounding inhabitants, worse was prevented. In honor of the teacher Hermann Küsel, who led the way in the surrender, a small street was named after him.

You can also find the tour at Komoot.
