The thickest yew tree in Germany that is open to the public.

In the garden of the Erbhof is a yew tree that is over 400 years old. The crown is approx. 21 meters wide, the trunk circumference is over 4.80 meters, the height is approx. 14 meters. Yew trees can live to be 2000 years old. The German Dendrological Society proclaimed it a national heritage tree on August 18, 2023. The aim of the board of trustees is to honor very old and vital trees in Germany. 100 trees, distributed as equally as possible across all federal states, are to be awarded gradually.
