The circular tour leads through a scenic area with a huge boulder.

The circular tour leads through the scenic area around the villages of Wenden, Linsburg, Stöckse and Sonnenborstel through the "Krähe" state forest and past the Giebichenstein, the burial mounds (archaeological nature trail) and Lake Stöckser See. The Giebichenstein is the largest boulder in Lower Saxony (207 tons).

According to legend, the giant Hans Lohe wanted to throw a large, heavy stone at the Wölpe church tower in revenge on the people of Wölpe. Dwarf King Giebich knew about the revenge plans and used his mysterious power to steer the flying stone in a different direction. As a result, it landed at the giant's feet in the "crow". The stone is still called Giebichenstein today after the benevolent Giebich.

The alternative route leads through the Feldmark from Linsburg station to Stöckse.

Cycling in the joint municipality of Steimbke
The joint municipality of Steimbke with its member municipalities of Linsburg, Rodewald, Steimbke and Stöckse lies in the middle of a charming heath, moorland and forest landscape and is ideal for cycling.

Our three signposted circular tours (Owl Tour, Pure Nature, Of Giants and Stones) lead through agricultural villages. The area is very varied, with the heathland and moorland between Steimbke and Rodewald on one side and the "Krähe" state forest around Stöckse on the other.

The local gastronomy invites you to linger in between.Enjoy the peace and quiet and nature on our circular cycle tours and forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

You can also find the "Of giants and stones" tour at Komoot.
