The village of Bruchhausen-Vilsen has around 40 km of marked hiking trails. The combination of different paths creates circular routes of various lengths (Tour 1-Tour 7). It goes through gentle hills, fields, lush meadows past streams and through unspoiled nature around Bruchhausen-Vilsen.
The diversity of nature and the charms of the seasons make these trails tours of discovery. Tour 6 Berxer Höhenweg: Circular route from the i-point at the train station/tourism service via Berxen back to Bruchhausen-Vilsen (7.7 km, marked: path with tree):
Special features: Museum railroad, former sand pits
From the i-Punkt/TourismusService at the train station, the trail leads a short distance through Bahnhofstraße, then uphill through Feldstraße to the Geestrand. We walk down between former sand pits, cross the district road and walk approx. 400 m through the Berxer Marschbruch until the hiking trail branches off to the left and leads in a large arc over the Geestrücken and through the Trahetal back to Vilsen.
