The village of Bruchhausen-Vilsen has around 40 km of marked hiking trails. The combination of different paths creates circular routes of various lengths (Tour 1-Tour 7). It goes through gentle hills, fields, lush meadows past streams and through unspoiled nature around Bruchhausen-Vilsen.

The diversity of nature and the charms of the seasons make these trails tours of discovery. Refreshment stops, places of interest and special features have been included in the respective tour descriptions. The routes are easy to recognize thanks to the signposting and generally lead along easily accessible paths.

Tour 6 Berxer Höhenweg: Circular route from the i-point at the train station/tourism service via Berxen back to Bruchhausen-Vilsen (7.7 km, marked: path with tree):

Special features: Museum railroad, former sand pits

From the i-Punkt/TourismusService at the train station, the trail leads a short distance through Bahnhofstraße, then uphill through Feldstraße to the Geestrand. We walk down between former sand pits, cross the district road and walk approx. 400 m through the Berxer Marschbruch until the hiking trail branches off to the left and leads in a large arc over the Geestrücken and through the Trahetal back to Vilsen.
