The Kaffkieker is a historic railcar from 1959 with two diesel engines. The railcar was in service with the Osthannoversche Eisenbahn until 1977. It was then sold to northern Italy, where it was in service for 23 years. In 2003, it was used on the Niebüll-Tondern line before ending up on a siding in Kiel in 2005. The railcar was rescued by the Mittelweserbahn and has been running as a tourist train since 2007.
The railcar was affectionately christened the "Kaffkieker", as it rolls comfortably through the beautiful landscape and the pretty villages along the route can be "bekiekt" from a different angle. It usually runs twice a month from Eystrup via Hoya, Bruchhausen-Vilsen to Syke and back. It also travels to special events such as the Brokser Heiratsmarkt.
