The clock tower on Wachtplatz, inaugurated on 14.11.1937, was built according to plans by the architect and then mayor (1912-1938) Ernst Meßwarb. The tower was intended to be a symbol of the combination of tradition and modernity. For this reason, the clock tower was decorated with a depiction of Rehburg's garrison period. A musical mechanism was installed next to the clock on the north side, which was connected to the clock. The motif chosen was the Rehburg coat of arms in front of a heath landscape. When the hour struck, two doors opened and a leaping deer could be seen.
