Skulptur "Der Patriarch Fijodor Karamasow"

The "Father Fijodor" is part of the "Brothers Karamazov" group of figures. The figure is a joint production by the young sculptors Klaus Effern and Reinhard Osiander. Osiander created the body from old beech wood, Klaus Effern the carpet from poplar wood.
The beech wood comes from a copper beech that stood in the Landratsgarten for 100 years. The new town hall was built "around the beech". Due to heat accumulation and other factors, the tree died and had to be felled. A new tree was planted.
