The lifelike replica of the bear family was carved from poplar wood. It stands in front of the "Bärenhöhle" vacation apartment next to the German Creative Center Wood (dkholz). The sculpture is 3.50 m high. "Papabär" weighs 1000 kilograms, mother and child weigh 750 kilograms. It took three months to make.

The sculpture group creates a link to the historical tour "The Bear Trail". This leads over a length of 3.6 kilometers through the old town of Nienburg past the German Creative Center Wood.
