The first standard clock was erected on the market square on the corner of Am Markt/Lange Str in 1909. It stood in the same place for 35 years until it was destroyed in the bombing raid on Stolzenau on November 21, 1944. The second standard clock was erected in 1946 on the foundations of the first clock. It stood in the same place for 50 years. Since September 1, 1996, the third Stolzenau standard clock has been standing on the market square.
