Perhaps as early as the Old Saxon period, but certainly in the second half of the 15th century until the middle of the 17th century, this was the seat of the Achim goh court. On the lime-lined square in front of the cemetery, the Gohgräfe sat enthroned under a particularly large lime tree on the court chair, a stone seat protected by a shingle roof. In addition to the arbitration of municipal matters, court hearings with the pronouncement and execution of sentences took place here. The old school of Achim parish stood in the southern corner of the square.
