The synagogue was completely destroyed on the night of November 9, 1938. Since 1990, a memorial with a bronze plaque and a broken Star of David in the middle of a brick has commemorated the Jewish citizens. The walls of different heights are modeled on the layout of the destroyed place of worship.
Memorial plaque:
"In memory of our Jewish fellow citizens and the synagogue that stood here. It was vandalized on November 9, 1938. Forgetting leads to exile. Remembering, however, is the secret of liberation."
