Grafenburg Wietzen

Archaeological site
Castle
The seat of the Counts of Stumpenhusen was well protected in the marshy floodplain of the Mühlbach stream.
There is nothing left to see of the former castle complex. Only a memorial stone reminds us of it.
A signpost marks the spot today: The team from the Wietzen local history museum first had to lay out sturdy footboards in the boggy woodland to avoid sinking into the mud during installation. The white pole can be seen from the footpath around the mill pond.
