Ehemalige Synagoge Hoya

Historical building
A synagogue for the Jewish community of Hoya was built on this site in 1833.
There is evidence of Jewish families living in Hoya since 1713. Their cemetery is in Hoyerhagen. The former synagogue was also a meeting place and school. It was destroyed on November 10, 1938 during the pogrom night.

Today, a memorial plaque and metal plates embedded in the ground commemorate the site.
