Half-timbered house
Historical building
This half-timbered building from the 16th century housed living quarters and utility rooms under one roof.

The former open fireplace was in the hallway. The smoke was drawn outside through the hatch in the floorboards and the attic above through a "Uhlenloch". Behind the hallway were the cattle stables, above them the sleeping chambers, and above them attics where straw, hay and provisions were stored. A high plank door was located on the gable end and was large enough to allow loaded farm wagons with harvest supplies to pass through.
Ackerbürger were town farmers who had town citizenship.
