Skulptur "Die Trennung"

Sculpture
Axel Seyler (Detmold), 1990 ("Kunst am Bau"), bronze
The almost man-sized bronze sculpture symbolizes the separation of Bundespost into Deutsche Post AG and Telekom. A heavily laden parcel delivery woman and a man carrying a television grow out of a lime tree trunk. Despite the burden, this is intended to express the friendship that will continue to bind the two together. The heart-shaped formations are derived from the Latin name of the lime tree: "Tilia cordata" means "the heart-shaped one".
