Schanze

Archaeological site
In the area where the Aller flows into the Weser near Klein Hutbergen are the remains of the "Schwedenschanze";
In 1654, Swedish occupying troops built a pentagonal fortification with a diameter of 250 meters here. There was a field gun on each of the bastions. This was intended to control shipping on the Weser and Aller rivers. There was accommodation and depots for around 50 men inside the redoubt.

The floor plan of the pentagonal structure is still clearly visible today.
