A sculpture group consisting of five metal steles has stood in the front area of Ernst-Thoms-Platz since the end of June 2016. The stelae represent the five twin towns of the district town - Nienburg/Saale (Saxony-Anhalt), Bartoszyce (Poland), Dendermonde (Belgium), Vitebsk (Belarus) and Las Cruces (New Mexico/USA). The name and coat of arms of the respective twin city and a QR code are attached to each stele. This can be used to call up further information. The sculpture group is a gift from the Lions Club to the town of Nienburg/Weser.
