The Romanesque St. Laurentius Church is located in the middle of the "old village of Achim". It is Achim's oldest building and was first mentioned in a document in 1257. The church is named after and patron saint of St. Laurentius. Worth seeing are the baroque altar from 1750, the pulpit from 1637 and the oldest piece of the church - the baptismal font from the 13th century. The cross wings and an extension of the church with sarcophagi and old gravestones are named after important families. Participants on the tour will learn everything there is to know about the church - from historical details to the uncovered wall paintings from the Baroque period. There is also a little love story to tell.
