Since September 2015, the Nienburg district group has been running the BUND Kinderwildnis, a nature playground in the middle of Nienburg. Located between the Friedrich-Ebert-Schule and Ziegelkampstrasse, it is easy to reach on foot, by bus or by bike.
The Kinderwildnis is a public playground. Children and young people can come and play at the Kinderwildnis with or without their parents. Since its inception, the Kinderwildnis has become a popular destination for children and families.
Unlike many playgrounds, the Kinderwildnis has plenty of space. It is around 8000m² in size. There are also "only" two pieces of play equipment: a swing for two and a stilt house with a tree-trunk bridge, climbing net and sliding pole. The children's wilderness is mainly for playing in and with nature. Here you can run, hide and romp through nature. Anyone who loves climbing, splashing around in the water or building a camp in the tall grass will feel right at home in the children's wilderness. And if you get a little hungry in between, the various fruit trees offer a tasty snack straight from the tree.
Under environmental education supervision, the district group also offers an extensive children's and family program at the children's wilderness. Anyone who wants to can come and build, research or play on a specific nature theme.
School classes, daycare centers or other institutions can also use the children's wilderness. There are two options for this: Either simply drop by and discover nature on the grounds on your own, or book an event specially tailored to the group's wishes. Nature experience and environmental education events are offered on various nature-related topics.
