Half-timbered house
Historical building
Special wedding venue
The old schoolhouse is located in the historic center of Dauelsen. It is a half-timbered house that was built in 1823 to replace the old school, which had existed since 1663.
The building contained a classroom and the teacher's apartment. In 1895, it was once again too small and another school building was erected next door. This was demolished during the renovation of the old schoolhouse.

The "Altes Schulhaus Dauelsen" association took care of the renovation of the cultural monument owned by the town of Verden. Today, it serves as an open meeting and event venue.

The old schoolhouse offers an atmospheric setting in which to tie the knot, as civil wedding ceremonies can be held here. The schoolhouse has been appointed as the wedding room of the Verden registry office. The "gute Stube" is available for smaller groups, while larger wedding parties can use the hallway (Registry Office Verden: Tel. 04231 / 12-263 or 12-260).
