The former course of the battlements is still clearly visible on the tower. The six-storey building is the last remaining fortified tower. In 1838, the tower was converted into a prison. Eight prison and torture cells and the guardroom were housed in the tower. There had already been an underground prison in the building. This is also where the "embarrassing interrogation" was carried out, i.e. confessions were forced. In 1553, the former house of the executioner (Blödelei) was extended. It was structurally altered in the years 1714-15.
