500 brass horseshoes were laid in the paving slabs from Grosse Strasse to Holzmarkt.
They refer to the equestrian city of Verden and show the four horse gaits: walk, trot, canter and racing gallop. Each horseshoe bears the name of a donor and also the names of German equestrian celebrities such as Isabell Werth, Alwin Schockemöhle, Hans-Günter Winkler and Dr. Reiner Klimke.
