Historical building
The transformer house was built in 1926 in the typical brick construction of the time;
The client was Überlandzentrale Hoya, based in Altenbücken. The basis for the little house was a drawing by Siemens Schuckertwerke Münster. The transformer house was used to transform the high voltage to the voltage required for the households.

In 1998, the overhead lines were relocated underground during sewer construction work and new smaller transformer stations were built for the installation of the new street lighting As the old transformer was no longer needed, demolition was planned. Preservation or demolition was then also the subject of a citizens' meeting on July 10, 1998. As a result the Trafo-Verein Anderten was founded and the rights and obligations for the transformer were transferred to the association.

The transformer house was finally renovated by the association and thus secured for the future. It s interior is accessible up to the second floor, from where you have a good view. Outside, there is a plaque with information on the development of electricity supply in the countryside. In addition, an exhibition of pictures and objects is planned inside to provide information about the electricity supply.
