Ferry
Cross the Weser at the historic ferry station.
Until 1959, there was a ferry between Grinden in the municipality of Langwedel and Ahsen in the municipality of Morsum with up to four hand barges and a barge ferry operated by farmers who farmed land on both sides of the Weser. The ferry service can be traced back to the middle of the 18th century, but is probably even older. As late as 1945, between 20 and 30 crossings were registered here every day.

In August 2005, the ferry association resumed operation of the Weser ferry between Hagen-Grinden and Ahsen-Oetzen, thus creating a new link for cyclists and hikers between the Langwedel district and the joint municipality of Thedinghausen. The volunteer-run ferry service operates from April 30 to October 3 on weekends and public holidays.
