Water mill
Special wedding venue
Originally built in 1769, the Blenhorst sawmill and flour mill is unique in Lower Saxony.
The pre-industrial "power station", which was decommissioned in 1960 and restored between 1988 and 1998, has one water wheel for the mill and one for the sawmill. The mill is driven by top-bladed water wheels, i.e. the water runs into the blades of the wheel from above and thus sets it in motion. The watermill has the oldest still fully functioning equipment in northern Germany.

Idyllically situated by a pond, the mill offers the opportunity for civil wedding ceremonies. The lovingly decorated wedding room offers space for around 30 guests. A champagne reception, white doves and other wishes are gladly fulfilled and individually organized. The entire wedding celebration for up to 50 people can also be held in the cozy mill guest room (information: Samtgemeinde Weser-Aue, Tel. 05021-6025-0).
