In the center of the village on Buernbrink in Neddenaverbergen, a monument was erected to the small farmer Heinrich Worthmann as he sat on the ground in front of his house on a warm day. The model for the "Scheepers Vadder" sculpture was a photograph taken in 1930 by the photographer Mönchstedt, Verden, showing the small farmer in front of his farmyard on the village street, deniming a scythe to keep it sharp. This photo was used to create a postcard that enjoyed great popularity.
"Scheepers Vadder" thus became a minor celebrity. The sculpture was made possible by donations from the villagers. An information board shows how the sculpture was created.
