The windmill was built in 1861 by Karl-Dietrich Gräper. It is a "Dutch windmill". After a few years, the "Göpel" was replaced by wind power. As wind power was often insufficient, a benzene engine with water cooling was installed in 1923. When the power supply was expanded in 1934, an additional grist mill with an electric motor was installed. As there was no other space, the oil mill had to be dismantled. Apart from the oil mill, all the equipment is still there. The windmill has not been in operation since 1963. From 1994 to 1998, extensive renovation work was carried out on the mill. As a result, the mill is now fully functional again.
