Built in 1854, the chapel probably replaced a previous building from the 16th century. As early as 1900, the building was to be demolished due to structural defects and lack of space and a new building was to be erected. However, this project could not be realized for cost reasons, so the building was renovated and extended to include the current chancel. There are still many traces of the extension on the exterior. The bell in the tower is from the chapel that was demolished in 1854.
