From mid-June to September, everything in Brokeloh on the Middle Weser revolves around the "fat blueberries". In late summer, millions of bickberries (blueberries) ripen around the small village of around 350 inhabitants year after year. A visit to the Herse family's farm café is particularly rewarding. Not only can you pick the berries yourself, but the blueberry café with its large covered terrace also offers a wide variety of dishes made with blueberries: fresh cakes and waffles, potato pancakes, yeast dumplings, salads, delicious ice cream and wild sausage. Numerous blueberry products are available to take away in the adjoining farm store.
