Directions

Eystrup - Bruchhausen-Vilsen:
Start from Eystrup station in a northerly direction, crossing the main railway line twice in the direction of Hassel. After crossing the main road 215, the route continues westwards, past the Hassel sports field with its adjacent barbecue area. You pass the old fortified church. The rest of the route leads completely through the Feldmark, past the nature reserves "Alhuser Ahe" and "Wiedesee". In Hoya, you follow the state road 330 for a short distance, along which the Bürgerpark, the Martinskirche cultural center, the local history museum and the Lower Saxony Institute for Sports History are located, before continuing westwards through the town centre. After crossing the L 330, the circular tour takes you past the state riding school, a barbecue area and the waterworks. The route continues in the direction of Hoyerhagen along the main melioration canal. At the "Tivoli" district, cross the L 330 again and follow the "Tivoli" road in a north-westerly direction. The windmill in Hoyerhagen is already visible in the distance. Take the "Mallener Weg" to the west towards Bruchhausen-Vilsen and cycle a short distance along the main melioration canal with its idyllic landscapes and many small bridges and barrages. In Bruchhausen-Vilsen, the route passes the "Alter Amtsschreiberhaus" and the Broks church. The route continues through a residential area and leads to the market square (Brokser Heiratsmarkt held every year at the end of August). After crossing the historic railroad line, you reach Bruchhausen-Vilsen station with the Lower Saxony Small Railway Museum and a unique collection of more than 100 historic vehicles.

A tour with a free guided tour is possible on 5 fixed dates per year. Further guided tours must be booked.

The route runs from Bruchhausen-Vilsen station via "Homfelder Straße" along the K 140, past the historic center of Vilsen, St. Cyriacus Church, the spa gardens, a barbecue area and the Bruchhausen-Vilsen outdoor pool as well as the Vilsa-Brunnen company. In the district of Bruchmühlen, turn left at the old water mill with paper museum and head east over the "Wöpser Berg" to the rural district of Riethausen. Continue in a south-easterly direction to Hoyerhagen. A short dirt road past the Jewish cemetery takes you back to the "Tivoli" district. From here, the route initially runs along the K 136, through the Feldmark and via the district of Duddenhausen to Bücken with its double-towered collegiate church. From here, you can take an alternative route in the direction of Hoya, which then leads via the district of Dedendorf along the "Grafen-Route", past the Ziegeleisee lake, to Hoya. The circular route continues from Bücken in the direction of Schweringen. You cross the L 351 state road and cycle south along the Weser long-distance cycle path via the district of Stendern. To get to Gandesbergen on the other side of the Weser, you can take the only ferry on the Mittelweser in Schweringen (see ferry times). Continue in an easterly direction to reach Gandesbergen. After crossing the B 215, head north past the Turmwindmühle and back to Eystrup station. For cyclists who are completely unfamiliar with the area, the information points listed are happy to provide alternative routes.
