Steller Berg borders the moorland area of Baden and Uesen. Although the moor has been heavily drained in places, it is still home to plants worthy of protection. The Wittkoppenberg (approx. 31 m above sea level) is a mixed forest area dominated by beech and oak trees. In addition, thanks to the “Rotenburger Rinne”—a deep, glacial-era watercourse—the entire area is a water protection zone where high-quality drinking water is sourced.(2) Water Protection Area:The entire area between the highway and Wittkoppenberg is designated as a water protection zone. Deep wells are located in the fields and forests, from which groundwater is pumped to the Wittkoppenberg water treatment plant. The water treatment plant began operations in 1966.(3) Achim Golf Course:Completed in 1998, the golf course blends harmoniously into the landscape, where ditches, ponds, bunkers, scattered groups of trees, and patches of forest come together to form a cohesive whole.
