description: "Among other things, the Wesermühle processes camelina into oil. Camelina is rarely cultivated today. The camelina oil was honored by the Marketing Association of Lower Saxony’s Agricultural and Food Industry (Marketinggesellschaft der niedersächsischen Land- und Ernährungswirtschaft e. V.) as the “Culinary Ambassador of Lower Saxony 2013.” In 2018, the roasted hazelnut oil—which is also produced at the Wesermühle—was honored as well. The Wesermühle is located in the former windmill in the Wulmstorf district of Thedinghausen. After the building had stood vacant for years—with some of the outbuildings used as storage space—the Wesermühle GbR, which had been based nearby for 10 years, found a new home there. Following a brief renovation period, production began at this historic site in 2017 using six mills. Since then, 15 different oils and, in the meantime, 12 varieties of mustard have been produced here. Tours of the production facility are generally available by prior appointment."
