 The bronze relief shows the historical town structure of Nienburg (town gates, streets, squares, fortifications, landmark buildings such as the town hall, church and count's castle). The so-called Hammelmann plan from 1634 served as a model, when the medieval town, fortified with ramparts and ditches, was expanded into an early modern fortress under imperial occupation.
