After a year of construction (foundation stone laid on July 9, 1893), the Roman Catholic parish church of St. Joseph was consecrated by Bishop Wilhelm Sommerwerck on August 5, 1894;

 The design came from the state building inspector Richard Herzig. It is a three-aisled, neo-Romanesque basilica made of brick with a square choir and semicircular apse. The tower on the west façade is 35 meters high.
